Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a very small plastic box, and can be found in Salcedo / Jaime C. Velasquez Park. Please see the updated listing below for the description of the replacement cache.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of Makati, the Central Business District of Metro Manila, lies a quiet and peaceful park - Salcedo / Jaime C. Velasquez Park. A friend told me that during Saturdays, there is the Salcedo Saturday Market where fresh produce is being sold. It’s refreshing to know that there are still some green space here in the city that are kept as such. But this didn’t happen by chance.

The park was “dedicated to the memory of Col. Jaime C. Velasquez who is one of the chief implementors in the development of the Makati Central Business District and its environs.” You can read more about Col. Velasquez on the marker in the park.

Because of the tall buildings around the area, the coords provided here are the best I can gather. The hint should be helpful in honing down where the cache might be. Please send your coords when you find this cache. That way, I can update it to a more accurate reading. Thanks!

I hope that this park will stay as a green space for a long time.

The cache was replaced by pattayadave. "...replacing the cache with a smaller than a micro up high under the tree limb. It's magnetic and has camo, but it will require a stretch or boost to reach it. If you can see a small chain hanging, you can see the cache. My average coords are similar to the original. N 14 33.590 E 121 01.369. Incredible amount of signal bounce. But, if you find the big tree along the sidewalk, you'll see it..."

Note on cache maintenance: the_real_joc has been kind enough to look after the cache, although he has yet to find it.
