One of the most distinctive Sporting breeds, the mahogany red Irish setter is an active, aristocratic bird dog. Originally bred to be red and white, the solid red color appeared in Ireland the 19th century and became a mark of quality and superior sporting ability.
The lines of the Irish Setter so satisfy in overall balance that artists have termed it the most beautiful of all dogs.
This is a letter box/hybrid cache with a stamp and a pad in it. Please do not remove it.
At parking area; go to the yellow barway, thence 50 degrees northeasterly on the mill pond trail for about (0.13 mile) 686.4 ft or until you come to a rock cairn on the right hand side of the trail; thence southeasterly for about 50ft to the cache.
