With this geocaching ARPAMUNROC continues the series that intended show a small number of geoacahings at the beautiful and unknown city of Rubí, a city of dreams, and insomnia .... It’s the first "classic" geocaching and is, surprisingly, in a nature area.
Rubí és, si es sap buscar bé, una ciutat de somni: té, com qualsevol altra vila, la seva història i les seves tradicions, les seves coses maques i molts racons per descobrir. Però també pot ser d’insomni: arquitectura desafortunada, urbanisme inhumà, manteniment urbà deficient, incivisme, etc. Aquesta sèrie vol mostrar-vos ambdós aspectes. Podeu estar d’acord, o no, amb la idoneïtat dels llocs escollits. L’únic que pretenem és que no us quedeu indiferents i que, en tot cas, conegueu alguna cosa més d’aquesta insigne vila. I com no, aquesta sèrie és un petit homenatge a la sèrie encetada per MERLUCIN anomenada “Rubí emblemático” amb la qual hem gaudit i, sobre tot, hem rigut moltíssim.
El Torrent dels Alous és un afluent de 5,4 km de l'esquerra de la riera de Rubí. Neix al sector occidental de la Serra de Galliners i durant bona part del seu curs fa de frontera natural entre els termes municipals de Rubí i de Sant Cugat del Vallès de manera que, en el sentit del curs de la poca aigua que acostuma a portar, a l’esquerra tenim Sant Cugat i, a la dreta, Rubí(políticament curiós, no...?). Està completament envoltat de vies de comunicació i naus industrials però és realment increïble la seva supervivència com a espai natural i l'actual estat de conservació. A la seva riba destaca l’abundant, i en determinades èpoques de l’any exuberant, vegetació de ribera on podeu veure falgueres, salzes, freixes i, sobretot, àlbers (Populus alba). Entre el pont de l’empresa Sharp i el pont de la masia de Can Sant Joan destaquen exemplars d’aquesta espècie de més de més 16 m d’alçada. Respecte a la fauna, a part de les omnipresents garses, podeu arribar a veure alguna polla d'aigua, fotges, blauets, mussols o gaigs. També no és estrany veure conills, algun esquirol i, sobre tot alguna rata de camp i rates comunes nedant per l’aigua del torrent. Com a estrella invitada procedent del sud-est asiàtic, entre l’estiu i la tardor, podreu veure, i sobretot, notar l’encantador mosquit tigre (Aedes albopictus). Inoblidable.

Rubí is, if you know for well, a city of dream is like any other town its history and its traditions, its pretty places and many places to discover. But it also may be insomnia: architecture unfortunate, inhuman urbanism, urban poor maintenance, uncivil behavior, etc. This series aims to show you both. You can agree or not with the appropriateness of the chosen sites. All we want is that you will not remain indifferent and, in any case, know something more of this famous town. And of course, this series is a tribute to the series begun by MERLUCIN called "Rubí emblemático" with which we have enjoyed, and above all, we laughed a lot.
The Torrent dels Alous is a left tributary of the Riera de Rubí of 5.4 km. Born in the western sector of the Sierra de Galliners, for much of its course is the natural border between the municipalities of Rubí and Sant Cugat del Vallès so that, within the meaning of course the little water that usually bring, Sant Cugat is at left and at right, is Rubí(politically curious, not ...?). It is completely surrounded by roads and industrial buildings but is really incredible survival as a natural area and current condition. At his side stands the abundant, and in certain seasons lush river vegetation, where you can see ferns, willows, ash and especially poplar (Populus alba). Between the company Sharp bridge and the Masia de Can Sant Joan bridge you can see examples of this specie over more than 16 m in height. Regarding fauna, apart from the ubiquitous magpies, you get to see some moorhens, coots, kingfishers, owls and herons. Also not uncommon to see rabbits, squirrels, field rats and common rats swimming in the water stream. As a guest star from the south-east Asia, between the summer and autumn, you can see, and especially note the lovely tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus). Unforgettable.
