The London Loop
500 Stars Challenge

NO NIGHT TIME CACHING, PLEASE!
Welcome to a Challenge addition to the London Loop caches
For this Challenge, a date may qualify from ANYTIME in your caching career and ANY LOCATION and is NOT limited to finds on the London Loop (ET Highway, Route 66 or combination of finds are ok, for example)

Normally getting just 200 stars in a day is pretty tough, since you would probably need 50+ finds. A couple of years ago, I would have scoffed at the idea of 500+ stars (or way more) until I learned about power trails. Being a veteran of many cache machines, it is quite the experience to hit the road for a serious numbers run, but this is NUTS! (and film canisters...and rocks, culverts, trees and hydro poles...)

For this Challenge, a date may qualify from ANYTIME in your caching career and NOT only those caches listed as a London Loop cache are required to complete. The object of this challenge: Find caches, all within one calendar day, where the combined Difficulty and Terrain stars add up to a minimum of 500. Only log when you have met the requirements of the challenge.

This is quite the Star Search day. If you are curious to know your exact star total, I do know of two star counting macros on GSAK (StarChallenge and StarCount).
How do you figure this out? Lets use this cache as an example: 500 Stars Challenge - Difficulty/Terrain: = 3.5 Stars for Difficulty + 1.5 Stars for Terrain: 3.5+1.5= 5.0 Stars for this example cache

The Rules of this Challenge:
All of your finds must be found on the same calendar day.
Please list the date and number of finds you found on that date. Since we are talking hundreds of caches, you do not have to tally the sum of those stars, but please consider the average number of one-day cache finds needed for 500+ stars. If your average is 1.5/1.5 you would need 167 finds in a day, which I believe can be as there are more with different D/T levels.
The sum of all stars, Difficulty/Terrain, must equal or exceed 500 stars.
You may use any listed type of London Loop cache or other cache finds with exception of using this one as part of the challenge.
Star values are to be calculated as of the day of your find. Changes in star value, either up or down, will not effect your final star count. (Changes to star ratings are rare but it does happen).

Logging Requirements:
To log a “Found it” for this cache, but not including this cache and signing of the logbook, you must have:
Found enough caches in one calendar day where the combined Difficulty and Terrain star ratings add up to a minimum of 500 stars.

London Loop is a cache run placed in and around London, Ontario
For those cachers who have been fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to experience either of our hides, you many know what to expect.
Some cachers will be easy; some will be hard!
We have tried to hide a variety of roadside grabs, walking/hiking caches... along with some with a higher degree of difficulty/terrain.
Our hope is to make the London Loop enjoyable for all cachers.

Some caches placed on the London Loop may require the use of your geo-senses... along with various other caching implements from your geocaching bag.
Please be sure to replace all caches exactly as found!
