De La Salle Holy Cross College
De La Salle Holy Cross College is a catholic school for both boys and girls. About 25 years ago there were two different schools, De La Salle (boys) and Holy Cross (girls), but then the Brothers of De La Salle (a catholic group of male teachers and priests) and the Sisters of Holy Cross (a catholic group of female teachers) decided that they would join schools here in South Africa to give more children a better education in primary and high school. The school has many extra murals, – Public speaking, Debating, Drama, Choir, Chess and Pipe Band, Sports activities – Tennis, Swimming, Athletics, Cricket, Rugby, Hockey, Netball and Soccer.
In the primary school there is a lovely new garden made up of only indigenous plants. The school supports many charities and gives of their time, money and support. The Church, St Charles Parish, is on the same property as the school and there is a cache placed by Smurfie there (GC1KWAZ).
When looking for the cache, look out for the security guard/s, as they are there from early morning till late in the evening.
The school gates are nearby so there are A LOT of muggles in the morning (from about 7:00) and from 1:30 in the afternoon.
