Blown Away Traditional Geocache
Encuentro: Unfortunately I am unable to attend to this cache in the near future, so regretfully I shall have to archive the cache and let someone else use the location.
If the location is still available next time I visit Fuerteventura, then I'll place another.

I don't know why a cache hasn't been placed before, so I decided to introduce people to this fabulous location by placing my own.
It is well worth doing on its own, but if you want to do more and are feeling energetic, add on GCWCGF Lighthouse Fuerteventura Faro Lobos and then perhaps finish off your day at GC33F6Z The Rest Of Your Life. On its own you will need about 90 minutes total time from the quay at Lobos and total distance is about 3.92 miles/6.31 Km. Combining the other two caches takes about three and a half hours with total distance of about 7miles/11.27 Km.
The old crater of the Montana de la Caldera is the home of the Pardela, a pretty big bird which only comes ashore during the breeding season June to October. Even then it floats on the sea until dusk when it then comes ashore. Strange but true!!
It gets windy sometimes on the top of the old volcano. You won't be blown away by the wind, but you will certainly be blown away by the views from the top of Lanzarote, the island of Lobos, the dunes of Corralejo to the south and Corralejo itself to the west. Please take lots of photographs and post them on site so that others can get a foresight of what's in store for them.
You are looking for a false rock with only a log inside, so take your own pen or pencil. Since there is no tree cover on the top of this volcano, the coordinates are very accurate!!
Make sure you take plenty to drink, plus sun screen and suitable head cover to protect you against the elements up here.
