What is a road rally?
It's a team competition over a predetermined
course.
For this geo-road rally, teams will travel by road and by foot
to find temporary caches and complete routes around East Oahu.
There will be 4 stages:

Stage 1 – Turn-by-turn Directions
Multi-cache

Stage 2 – Herringbone Map Navigation of
a Route
-
Stage 3 – Shortest Distance Between 2
Locations

Stage 4 – Fastest Time on Foot

What makes a team?
Your team can include 1-4 adults of your choosing in the same
vehicle. Keiki (under 16 years old) are welcome but do not count
toward team size.
What do I need to participate?
Each team must have:
-
1 caching-related prize donation per team
member.

1 motorized
vehicle
-
1 GPSr capable of tracking your course
-
1 digital camera
-
1 street map of East Oahu
-
The desire to have fun!
You may also find a cell phone and internet access to be
beneficial.
At the start of the rally, each team will receive a Race Book
with detailed instructions for completing the
rally.
Will there be prizes?
To participate, each adult team member should donate one
geocaching-related item. (Examples: geocoin, cache container, hat,
bug spray, GPSr, cachemobile, compass.)
These donations will become the prize pool for the entire
rally, distributed as follows:
1st place team - 50% of prize pool
2nd place team - 30% of prize pool
3rd place team - 20% of prize pool
There will also be a prize for each stage's winning
team.

event?
No! The organizers will be at the start/finish line during the
road rally; feel free to stop by and say
“Hi.”
