In conjunction with IGO's HnS, we have organized tours for one of
NE Iowa's neatest spots. Motor Mill, founded in 1869, was only in
operation for 14 years. The grounds include a cooperage, inn,
stables, an ice house, and of course...the Mill!
We have arranged private tours of the mill and grounds.
We have tour guides scheduled for 3pm. They can accommodate up to 70 guests.
This would be a good time to tour, find the nearby
caches, and shuttle canoers/kayakers/tubers back to City Park in time for the potluck dinner.
Please join us for this exciting look into Clayton Co. history. And there may be extra points for attending! ;)
Note: There is no bridge across the Turkey River on
the south side of Motor Mill, you need to take Grape Rd (Co Rd C1X)
right outside of Elkader to get there. (follow the signs) Otherwise
we will be waving at you from the other side of the river!
