Geocache Description:

Overlooking the River Mersey at Pierhead

While visiting the new Museum of Liverpool I walked across the
Pierhead and reflected on the number of memorials to seamen who
lost their lives in World War Two that have been placed here - very
appropriate considering the significance of Liverpool and the
Mersey in Britain's war effort. In particular I noticed the
striking statue in memory of Captain Frederic John Walker which led
to me reading about him in Wikipedia (visit link) So here is
another Liverpool cache in his memory. Then you can enjoy the views
of the river and Pierhead building and maybe follow me into the new
Museum which has all the usual amenities. It is a tablet container
little larger than a 35mm film box - bring your own pen
