Geocache Description:

When you enter the Calgary Tower go to the right and pass the ticket desk. Look for brochures and maps on the counter to the left and pass it to the far end. You should see the cache in plain sight on your left. If you can’t find it, please check with the ticket desk for help.

Also, ensure to close and lock the box properly once you are done.

The Calgary Tower

The Tower was built to honour Canada’s centennial 1967 and was also intended to promote the downtown core as a part of a Calgary urban renewal program. Construction commenced on February 19, 1967 and was completed in June 1968 at a cost of $ 3.5 million. The Tower measures 190.8 meters or 626 feet to the top of the antenna and sits 1,226 meters or 4,023 feet above sea level. The cauldron was installed by helicopter on October 4, 1987 for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. The flame is visible up to 20km away. In June 2005 a glass floor was installed on the Observation Deck as a gift to the province of Alberta on its centennial. You would have to climb 802 stairs to reach the observation Deck and 762 stairs to reach SKY 360, the revolving restaurant.

Tourism Calgary maintains a desk with maps and some visitor guides in cooperation with the Calgary Tower.

To solve this cache you need to know the year Alberta joined the Confederation of Canada.

Note: This cache is on private property. It was placed with permission of the Calgary Tower.
