À partir du Centre de découverte et de services, le Parc de la Gaspésie offre deux sentiers pour accéder au sommet nord du mont Albert :
- Le sentier Le mont Albert, d'une longueur de 11,4 km (5 heures pour l'aller-retour);
- Le sentier Le tour du mont Albert, d'une longueur de 17,4 km (6 à 8 heures pour faire boucle).
Les deux sentiers sont de considérés comme étant de niveau difficile. Il faut vérifier la période d'ouverture des sentiers sur la page du Parc de la Gaspésie ou sur le tableau des sentiers.
À l'altitude de la cache, vous vous trouvez devant un paysage nordique où vit une flore arctique-alpine et où l'on peut observer le caribou des bois. Le caribou des bois possède le statut de population menacée. La population de caribou de la Gaspésie est estimée entre 133 et 181 individus. Il s'agit de la seule population encore présente à l'état sauvage au sud du fleuve Saint-Laurent. Le mont Albert (tribute to Caribou)
The cache is located at 1070 meters altitude on the northern summit of Mount Albert. To maintain caribou habitat, it is not permitted to travel on the south summit of Mount Albert (1150 meters). Mount Albert is one of the 10 highest summit in Quebec (8th place).
From the Discovery Centre and services, Parc de la Gaspésie offers two paths to reach the summit of Mont Albert North:
- Trail Mount Albert, with a length of 11.4 km (5 hours round trip);
- The trail around Mount Albert, with a length of 17.4 kilometers (6 to 8 hours to loop).
Both trails are considered difficult level. You should check the opening time trails on the page of the Parc de la Gaspésie or on the Tables of trails.
At the altitude of the cache, you find yourself in a landscape where there is a Nordic arctic-alpine flora and where you can see woodland caribou. Woodland caribou population has the status of threatened. The population of caribou de la Gaspésie is estimated between 133 and 181 individuals. This is the only population still present in the wild south of the St. Lawrence River.
