Totton station is run by South West Trains and is served by the stopping service to Poole. It was formerly the terminus of a local service from Romsey but this now terminates at Salisbury and no longer calls at Totton.
The station was opened in 1859 under the name of Eling Junction, but was changed to Totton soon after opening. The now freight-only Fawley Branch Line leaves the main line a short distance west of the station.
The station has a basic hourly off-peak service provided by the London Waterloo to Poole stopping trains. This increases to half-hourly at peak times, when a few through trains to/from Weymouth call. The Sunday service is also hourly in each direction.
