MiGO Fall Fun Day 2011

The southeast chapter of the Michigan Geocaching Organization is proud to host this year's MiGO Fall Fun Day at Proud Lake Recreation Area on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

Proud Lake Recreation Area is 4700 acres in size and offers a wide range of activities and facilities including fishing, hunting, and paddling (canoe and kayak rentals are available); hiking, mountain biking, and bridle trails; cabins, lodges, and modern campsites; and of course geocaching. The office is located at 3500 Wixom Road, Commerce Township, MI 48382. A Recreation Passport is required for entry into Proud Lake Recreation Area. MiGO is NOT responsible for providing one.

Registration
There is no registration fee. Attendance and associated acitvities are free. MiGO requests that you post a Will Attend log with the number of people that you plan on attending with. (By posting a Will Attend, you will be automatically notified of updates.) Proud Lake Recreation Area does require a Recreation Passport to enter. There is a fee associated with that.

Schedule
The day starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM.

10:00 AM Geocaching Bingo
10:00 AM Closest to the Pin
11:00 AM New caches will be distributed
11:00 AM Pumpkin painting
12:00 PM Food will be served (we'll keep the food going to about 3:00 PM)
3:00 PM Winners for Geocaching Bingo will be drawn
3:30 PM Winners of Closest to the Pin will be determined
4:00 PM Prize table prizes to be awarded
4:30 PM Clean up the place
5:00 PM Festivities officially end

What to Bring

Chairs: There are no seats. If you would like to rest your weary legs by relaxing in a chair, you will need to bring one. Ground is ample if you would prefer to sit on it.
Prizes: We would like to set up a prize table and need items to give away. Please consider donating to the prize table.
Food: The meal at the event will be potluck.

Potluck
MiGO will be providing burgers, brats, and hot dogs. We are asking everyone to bring a dish to pass. Please remember that this is a family-friendly, alcohol-free event.

MiGO will also be providing water and the famous MiGO lemonade. You may want to consider bringing your own beverage. If you would like to donate beverages, please post a note or e-mail the South Lyon Trekkers.

Lodging
Camping is available at Proud Lake Recreation Area although it is in a different part of the recreation area than the event. Make reservations at Proud Lake Reservation Area.
