This walk will take you from the western car park of Horsell
Common (Sandy Track) on a circular walk via Deep Pool, Manor Farm
and Emmetts Mill. Terrain is flat but will be quite muddy after
rain.
There were originally 14 caches in the series, and they have
been numbered MIM01 to MIM15 in the order that you would normally
do them. Subsequently MIM10.5 was added, and as the number suggests
this lies between MIM10 and MIM11.
You will need to cross both Shores Road (A245) and Chobham Road
(A3046) during the walk – they are busy roads, so please take
very good care of children and / or dogs. The other roads that you
will need to cross are less busy.
We have now reinstated the missing caches of this series, and it
is now complete once again. Unfortunately we have had to modify the
route followed for the first two caches, because of permission
problems, but in some ways the new route is better than the old one
which crosses an area of common that is quite desolate after some
recent clearance work.
There are a number of stiles to cross during the walk and the
footpaths are not always marked – a good OS map would be very
useful!
You are looking for a small camouflaged cosmetics
container.
From the car park, either follow the lane back to the rodad and
turn right, or take one of the paths opposite the car park which
will take you towards the cache.
