[JLX.03] 2.1# Arenzano, S. Bambino di Praga Traditional Geocache

Il santuario del Bambino Gesù di Praga è posto su un'altura in posizione aperta, poco distante dal centro urbano cittadino di Arenzano, con ampio panorama sulla città e sui monti circostanti.

E' costantemente e assiduamente meta di pellegrini provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Le pale raffiguranti la vita di Gesù, le stazioni della Via Crucis ed il presepio perenne, tutti in maiolica, lo rendono davvero unico.

La chiesa si illumina in uno spettacolare gioco di luci multicolori in occasione della festa di tre giorni che cade ogni primo fine settimana di settembre.

STORIA
Il santuario, primo in Italia dedicato al Bambino Gesù, fu fondato nel 1905 dall'ordine religioso dei Carmelitani Scalzi. Tale culto verso il Bambino di Praga fu diffuso da padre Cirillo del Carmelo, a seguito di presunti eventi miracolosi, e la prima immagine ritraente il Bambino Gesù comparve a Praga - da cui trae quindi la denominazione geografica - per la prima volta nel 1628.

LA STRUTTURA
La struttura della chiesa si presenta a croce latina e per la realizzazione della facciata, corredata da un grande rosone, sono stati usati marmi policromi. Nel piazzale antistante il santuario è presenta un'alta colonna marmorea dove alla sua sommità è stata collocata una statua dorata raffigurante il Bambino Gesù di Praga. Tale effigie ricorda la solenne incoronazione della statua lignea avvenuta nel 1924 e attualmente conservata all'interno della chiesa. L'interno è corredato da numerose opere d'arte pittoriche e scultoree. Tra le sculture sono presenti statue dello scultore Albino Galletti, raffiguranti san Giuseppe e la Vergine Maria, e un presepio in maiolica di Eliseo Salino e Angelo Biancini sotto la struttura del santuario in un apposito locale. Tra le scene raffigurate nel presepio vi sono episodi della vita di Maria - quali lo Sposalizio e l'Incontro con santa Elisabetta - e altre sulla vita di Gesù quali la Nascita e lInfanzia accanto a san Giuseppe.

IL CACHE
Si trova vicino alla Torre dei Saraceni, situata alle spalle del Santuario, eretta nel X secolo per l'avvistamento e difesa del litorale contro le incursioni piratesche. È un piccolo manufatto a pianta quadrata, come molte altre fortificazioni minori. La torre si articola su due piani con terrazza di copertura, in anni recenti soprelevata e trasformata in veranda; risulta infatti che, anche se oggi in stato di abbandono, il manufatto sia stato in passato adibito ad abitazione privata. L'accesso, come di consueto soprelevato rispetto al piano di campagna originario, si trova a ponente. Le attuali finestre sono evidentemente di epoca moderna.

Il cache è oggetto di frequente manutenzione. E' facile, tuttavia, incorrere in perdite o esposizioni eccessive ai geomuggles. Si prega pertanto, di riporre il cache esattamente come indicato nelle foto spoiler.

2) REGISTRAZIONE
La veridicità dei ritrovamenti è fondamentale per garantire una manutenzione programmata ed efficiente. Al termine di ogni sessione di manutenzione verrà pubblicata foto del registro delle firme. Verranno eliminati tutti i ritrovamenti che non trovino riscontro. Nessuna eccezione.

The Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague is situated on a hill in the open position, not far from the urban center of Arenzano, with a wide view over the city and surrounding mountains.

It is consistently and assiduously visited by pilgrims from all over the world.

The blades depicting the life of Jesus, the Stations of the Via Crucis and the perennial crib are all ceramic and make it truly unique.

The church lights up in a spectacular multi-colored lights at the three-day festival on every first weekend of September.


HISTORY
The sanctuary, first in Italy dedicated to the Child Jesus, was established in 1905 by the religious order of Discalced Carmelites. This devotion to the Infant of Prague, was spread by Father Cyril of Caramel, as a result of alleged miraculous events, and the first image depicting the infant Jesus appeared in Prague - which then draws the geographical name - for the first time in 1628.

THE STRUCTURE
The structure of the church is a Latin cross and for the construction of the facade, completed with a large rose window, were used multicoloured marbles. In front of the sanctuary there is a high marble column; at the top, was placed a golden statue depicting the Infant Jesus of Prague. This recalls the solemn coronation portrait of the wooden statue in 1924 and currently preserved in the church. The interior is equipped with numerous paintings and sculptures. Among the sculptures there are statues of the sculptor Albino Galletti, depicting St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary, and a pottery crib by Eliseo Salino and Angelo Biancini, under the structure of the sanctuary in a special room. Among the scenes depicted in the crib, there are episodes of Mary's life - such as the Marriage and the Meeting with St. Elizabeth - and others on the life of Jesus such as the Birth and Childhood next to St. Joseph.

THE CACHE
It is situated near the Saracen tower, which is located behind the sanctuary, and which was built in the tenth century for watching and defending the coast against pirate raids. It is a small building with a square plan, like many other smaller fortifications. The tower has two floors with roof terrace, elevated and transformed in recent years on the veranda, is that, although now in it is in a state of neglect, the building was previously used as a private residence. The access, as usual elevated compared to the original plan of campaign, is located to the west. The current windows are evidently of modern times.

WARNINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1) REPOSITIONING THE CACHE
The cache is subject to frequent maintenance, however, it is easy to incur losses or excessive exposure to geomuggles. So please put exactly where indicated in the spoilers.

2) LOGS
The truth of the founds is very important for a scheduled and efficient maintenance. At the end of every maintenance session a logbook photo will be published. Every found which does not match the logbook will be deleted. No exception admitted.
