Geocache Description:

This is the third in a trail of caches telling some of the history of Dunstable Downs. An easy walk from the Chilterns Gateway Centre (LU6 2GY), this cache is hidden slightly off the multi user trail, an easy access track that runs along the top of the Downs with stunning views all year round.
The cache is a clip lunch-box covered in camouflage tape.

Dunstable Downs is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a kite-flying hotspot. Acres of space to enjoy with fabulous views over the Vale of Aylesbury and along the Chiltern Ridge. Chalk grassland, rich in wildlife, provides prime walking country – spot the gliders soaring over the glorious landscape!

This particular Cache is hidden beside a Scheduled Ancient Monument and contains an information card detailing some of the history of the immediate area.

Lots of parking is available in the area. Free to National Trust members and Blue Badge holders. £2 per day for all others from 10am to 6pm.

GPS devices are now available to borrow from the Chilterns Gateway Centre so you can introduce your friends and family to geocaching too!
