Please seek this cache only if you are certified in SCUBA; have
the necessary experience in altitude diving and the cold, dark, low
vis waters of the Northwest; and have made the appropriate
preparations. By seeking this cache, you are taking full
responsibility for your own safety.
Now we all know that a GPS doesn't work underwater so the above
coordinates will take you to a information board in the Blackmore
Parking area. From here, you're going to need to locate the end of
the concrete boat ramp. The end of the ramp might be in 20+ feet of
water or it might be completely out of the water, it all depends on
the level of the water in the reservoir. Once you’ve made
your way to the end of the ramp you are about 200 feet from the
cache, so you’ll need to take a 38 degree heading to reach
GZ. You know you're close when you reach a steep slope. You might
want to bear slightly left so when you reach that slope you can
turn right and follow the bottom contour to the cache.
The cache is suspended 4-6 feet off the bottom with a buoy at a
depth of 30-50 feet, depending on the water level. Be very careful
not to disturb the bottom, doing so will reduce your visibility to
zero. There is a large dive slate provided for the log. There is
NO pencil attached to the slate so you have to bring one
with you. To log this as a find you MUST sign the dive
slate. All other logs will be DELETED!!
The cache originally contained:

For more information on dive conditions you can contact the

Hyalite Reservoir is located 10.5 miles up Hyalite Canyon south
of Bozeman, MT. The reservoir was constructed in the late 1940's
and is used for Bozeman's drinking water and Gallatin Valley
irrigation. It contains cutthroat trout and arctic grayling. A 'no
wake' rule has been instituted, allowing only low speed motoring
for trolling. Chisholm and Hood Creek Campgrounds are located on
the east shore of the lake offering family camping units, picnic
sites, boat ramps, outhouses, and drinking water. A picnic pavilion
is located on the west shoreline, near the boat ramp. The structure
is 20 feet by 50 feet and offers seating for 25.
