K2O Tour #1: Bridge 21 (Canterbury) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

TikvaNZ: I checked on this cache this morning and it has indeed gone, but the hint is still there. GZ was under at least 1m of water - fast flowing by the look of it. I wonder how far it went - it should have floated. Out to sea perhaps and washed up on a beach? Maybe a bonus find for someone sometime.

Rather than replacing the cache, with the risk of losing it again, I've decided to archive it. For those wanting to complete the series and needing the clue it is: D=0

Geocache Description:

Park and grab.

Bridge 21 is a railway bridge crossing the Kaiapoi River. The road along the stop bank drops down (on the river side) and goes under the railway bidge. The stop bank road can be accessed from Smith Street, Lineside Road or Mill Road. The cache is not on or under the railway bridge.

The river at this point is still in the tidal zone.

Otherwise there is nothing particular special about this spot. In fact it is rather a disgrace due to the rubbish dummped illegally.

This is cache 1 of 10 placed on a Kaiapoi to Ohoka and back 20km bike ride I do now and again. Somewhere in the cache is a letter and number needed to calculate the location of the final (bonus) cache. Remember to look for and record these for future reference.
