Cachen är en 35 mm filmburk.
Bryggudden är nästa område vid i Karlstads Inre hamn som kommer genomgå en ansiktslyftning. Från cachen har du bra utsikt över byggnationen av den första etappen inom området, som bland annat omfattar Karlstads nya landmärke; ett 60.5 meter (21 våningar) högt bostadshus längst ut på udden, ritat av arkitekt Gert Wingårdh. Huset blir Karlstads högsta byggnad (domkyrkan är näst högst med sina 58 meter).
Bryggudden, eller Tyggårdsviken som det också heter, skapades först under 1800-talet då marken uppdämdes och utfylldes för att möjligöra anläggandet av Inre hamn. Namnet Tyggårdsviken härstammar från tiden då militären hade sina tyghus (tyghus; förrådsbyggnad för vapen och militärmateriel) strax norr om viken.
Idag präglas området av småindustrier och kan nog anses ge ett ganska trist och intetsägande intryck.
Detta ska det bli ändring på. Byggnationen av första etappen har inletts, och när denna är klar 2012 kommer området närmast bron att ha förvandlats till ett vattentorg med bryggor, uteserveringar, restauranger och caféer, samt 72 exklusiva bostadsrätter. Allt som allt kommer Bryggudden, när det är helt färdigställt, att innehålla ca 500 bostäder.
Intressant är att exploatören och ägaren av marken inom området är Löfbergs lila. Samma företag äger Kaffeskrapan, som i dagsläget är den näst högsta byggnaden i Karlstad (45 meter). Detta familjeföretag har således, förutom inom kaffebranschen, även spelat stor roll för utvecklingen av Karlstads stadsbild.

Bryggudden is the next area in Karlstad’s inner harbor that is to be transformed. From the cache you have a nice view over the construction work that has started in the area, which includes the new landmark in Karlstad; a 60.5 m tall residential building at the beak, designed by the Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh. The building will be the tallest building in Karlstad (the cathedral is 58 m).
Bryggudden, or Tyggårdsviken as it also is called, was created during the 19th century, when the land was filled which enabled the construction of the inner harbor.
Today the district is characterized by small-scale industries and might be considered as rather unattractive.
This is something that will be changed in a near future. The construction has already started, and when it is completed in 2012, the area around the cache will be transformed into a waterside square with bridges, restaurants and open-air cafes, as well as 72 exclusive new apartments. When completed, the whole area will contain 500 new apartments.
Interesting is that the developer and the property owner in the area is Löfbergs lila, which is a Swedish company that produces coffee. They have their production in the “coffee scraper” which is the second tallest building in Karlstad today. Thus, this family owned company indeed influences the skyline of Karlstad.
