HC 6.7 Holmwood Common Extra Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

BaSHful: As advised a week ago, this circuit has had its day. A new (better?) replacement series will be published within a few weeks. All cache containers (except for a few in locations being reused) will be collected in by close of play tomorrow.

Late logging is acceptable but any 'Found it' logs dated after today will be deleted.

BaSHful.

Geocache Description:

A straightforward 'extra' cache intended to be done in conjunction with my Holmwood Common Multi series, all on Holmwood Common. See the National Trust website for additional information.

This cache, as the name suggests, is intended to be collected between the 6th and 7th caches of the original series. However, it, and its 6.x bretheren, can be done in isolation, in which case the difficulty comes down to around 2*/2* and the suggested parking can be found below. Note: the "HC 6.x" caches almost form a loop but "HC 6.1" will be an out and back.

The National Trust have kindly given permission for these caches. In return they ask that we all keep as far as possible to existing paths and tracks - their concern being that not to do so may cause disturbance and damage to unspoilt areas, particularly during the bird nesting season. To this I will add that you'll get round quicker! One last point, please remember
GEOCACHING ON NATIONAL TRUST PROPERTY IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

GPS reception can be poor so I can't guarantee the accuracy of my co-ordinates. I have, however, picked reasonably obvious hiding places and given pretty generous hints, so I hope you don't have too much difficulty. The grading is given for doing the whole series in one visit. Any individual cache will be easier than this. Doing the whole series in one push (recommended) should take two to four hours. The common can be wet in places at the best of times, so I'd advise boots. A compass and the Ordnance Survey Explorer 146 (1:25,000) Dorking, Box Hill & Reigate map could also be useful.

There are also a number of puzzle caches on the Common but apart from SECRET SQUIRREL they're all quite hard......

The cache container (300ml clip lock) does not contain a pen nor pencil, so please take your own writing implement. The log is to be found in its own little screw top container.
