Geocache Description:

This is a multi-staged cache course designed to be fun for kids and their parents. The entire course measures about 1.7 miles round trip. Parts of this course are located in Daniel’s Run Park so please DO NOT SEEK THIS CACHE AT NIGHT. Please park at the following location to begin your journey: N 38-degrees 51.100’ W 77-degrees 16.410’

Stanley was just an ordinary boy. That was until he was squashed flat by a heavy bulletin board. He cried. His parents took him to the emergency room, they cried too. The good doctors could do nothing to make Stanley normal again.

After Stanley got over the shock of being flat, he discovered that he could do things that he had never done before. He could pretend to be a poster on the wall, and hear an entire conversation take place between his classmates without them knowing at all. He could slide under locked doors. This was especially fun, because his neighbors had a cute puppy. He could slip over and play with the puppy anytime he wanted. One time Stanley decided to go visit his grandmother in Illinois. He just folded himself up, and mailed himself. Can you imagine getting all the way across the country for the price of a first class postage stamp?

Stanley decided he wanted to visit all 50 states in the USA this year, so he mailed himself off to Hawaii. Stanley’s parents are concerned, and want him to come home. Can you help them locate Stanly and get him home? Here is the last postcard he sent.

Large containers are in predictable locations, and the distances between them are relatively short. Waypoints are located approximately 15-20 feet off established paths. There are a couple of places along the route where poison ivy is prevalent. There is a Flat Stanley coloring page for kids and grown-ups at the final cache.

WARNING: I would avoid these woods during weather with high winds. There are some very old trees in this part of the park. Also, be careful of wasps/hornets at stage 1.
