Geocache Description:

CHARLTON ZOO is just over a 2.5 mile circular walk. It first takes in a footpath which opens on to a wider track and back on to a footpath. The second footpath runs alongside a wood where all the trees are planted in very straight lines. You will also see part of the old canal before crossing a wheat and corn field on the return journey. We saw lots of butterflies and some red kites whilst setting these. There are some beautiful views to be seen on a clear day, mainly on the return leg.

There are 10 caches in this series. This walk has been set up with children in mind. For that reason the names of the caches are inspired by my 18 month old daughter who loves animals. Some of them we have come across on our caching adventures together, others thankfully not! I have chosen Tinky's favourite animals she likes to mimick. Other than this the theme has no relevance. The caches are also close together. There are a mixture of micros and smalls with the smalls being well stocked.

I managed to walk this with a buggy but you will definitely need an all terrain one. There are also 2 kissing gates and one broken stile (now more of a fence) to negotiate.
Whilst setting these it started to pour with rain half way round and was really hard getting across the fields with the buggy but was easy when dry.
This is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Please bring your own pen and you may need tweezers to retrieve the log on one of the containers.

There are also some existing caches close by that you may wish to factor into this walk.
They are not too far off the trail. The first you will get to, between caches 4 & 5 is another one by myself. Three + Three = Tree (visit link)
The second is between caches 5 & 6, Gecko by AJ The Sheepdoctor. (visit link)
The third is between caches 7 & 8, Bridger1 by stswithuns. (visit link)

I hope you enjoy the walk as much as we did.
