Geocache Description:

The Great Golfball

On “Woodcock Hill“ or “Cratloe Mountain“ you can see from far away “The Great Golfball”. When you’re up close it looks like a huge football. On top of the mountain there is a very beautiful view to the City of Limerick and the River Shannon.

1. Go to N 52°43.452 W 08°42.702
You will find here a sign with a 4 digit amount. You need the first digit. Call this A.

2. Go to N 52°43.279 W 08°42.470
How many reflectors are there on the barrier? Call this B
Attention!!! There are not all reflectors - 12 is correct!

3. Go to N 52°43.261 W 08°42.457
There are directional antennas at the building with the great ball showing west. How many there are minus 2? Call this C.

4. From the same point look to the building without a ball. How many aerials you can count on the top of the building? Call this D.

The final coordinates:
N 52°43.((B/2)-A) ((B/2)/A) (A-D) W 08°42.(C+D) ((B/2)-C) (A+D)

The cache is a 1.1 l-Box wrapped in a dark-green blanket.
The road is very narrow and there are some sharp bends. Please drive careful.
Parking is no problem in the near of the first coordinate.
There is no need to climb over any fences!
You can walk around the barrier by foot, it´s closed to cars.
After raining it can be a little bit muddy. But to find the steps and the final there is no need to go through muddy terrain.

Auf dem "Woodcock Hill" oder "Cratloe Mountain" kannst du schon von weitem den "Großen Golfball" sehen. Aus der Nähe sieht er aber auch wie ein riesiger Fußball aus. Vom Berggipfel hast du eine wunderschöne Sicht auf die Stadt Limerick und den River Shannon.

1. Gehe zu N 52°43.452 W 08°42.702
Du findest hier ein Schild mit einem 4-stelligem Betrag. Du brauchst davon die erste Stelle. Nenne sie A.

2. Go to N 52°43.279 W 08°42.470
Wieviele Reflektoren sind an der Barriere angebracht?
Diese Zahl ist B
Achtung!!! Die Reflektoren sind nicht mehr alle vorhanden - es waren 12

3. Gehe zu N 52°43.261 W 08°42.457
Da sind runde Richtfunkantennen an dem Gebäude mit dem Ball, die nach Westen zeigen. Wieviele sind es minus 2? Diese Zahl ist C.

4. Vom selben Punkt schaue zum Gebäude ohne Ball. Wieviele Antennen sind oben zu sehen? Nenne diese Zahl D.

Die Final Koordinaten:
N 52°43.((B/2)-A) ((B/2)/A) (A-D) W 08°42.(C+D) ((B/2)-C) (A+D)

Der Cache ist eine 1,1 l - Box mit einer dunkelgrünen Hülle.
Die Straße ist sehr eng und hat einige scharfe Kurven. Bitte fahrt vorsichtig!
Parken ist in der Nähe def ersten Koordinate kein Problem.
Es ist nicht notwendig, über irgendwelche Zäune zu klettern.
Du kannst die Barriere zu Fuß passieren, die Straße ist ab hier nur für Autos gesperrt.
Nach Regen kann die Gegend sehr nass und schlammig sein, aber um zu den Punkten und dem Final zu gelangen, ist es nicht nötig, über das nasse Gelände zu gehen.
