Prologue:
You have been known by many names through the ages, but for the
last 237 years you have been called "Shah'ar Tuur", The Seeker. But
you need no name. Names are for the living. You are not alive, you
merely exist. You have a purpose, one that has consumed you for
eons. You hunt.
At one time you were just another mercenary, trying to fill your
belly. But this is different. This chase has been going on for far
too long to be considered a job. It is an obsession. Dust has blown
across the graves of your employer and 7 generations of his
offspring, yet you still chase. Is it honor that drives you or
something else?
Episode 2
Since your dissappointment at your last encounter, you have set
up a "home base" in the general vicinity. While scanning all
available sources of information you come across an anomoly that
can mean only one thing. Your prey! You have always been good at
utilizing the tools you have available, and your ability to adapt
has made you potentially the greatest "Seeker" there has ever been.
You are not arrogant enough to think that legends will be told of
you, but you are also not naive enough to think thats not a
possibility. You have already heard a Story-Song sung by a child as
a taunt, on another land, that seemed to reference you. Although
not adressed by name, it was clearly about you. How did that taunt
go?.....oh yes....like this.
Comes, the hunter!
Out from the shadows, bringing vengeance.
[pauses, then steps forward]
[pauses, then steps forwards again]
Beware the long reach,
If it is you he seeks.
Run!
Hide!
Escape!
Freedom?
Safety?
All prey fall to his mighty skill.
No remorse.
No bargains.
It's your end!
"It's your end!" has always been your "catchphrase" (pardon the
pun). How many have heard you speak those words and in how many
different languages? You cannot remember. You do know that all who
you spoke them to, heard nothing more after that. The child that
sung it was so filled with ferocity, you would have considered
taking him on as an apprentice. But you are no teacher. Most of
your skillset comes from your race, of which you have never met
another.
That was long ago. Everything is long ago to you now. You have
been sensing that an end is coming soon.(It's your end!) The
end of what, you do not know.(It's your end!) It has been
many years since you have taken another job, for this one requires
all your energy. You hope an end does come soon; the end for your
prey, but that doesn't feel right to you.(It's your
end!)
You ponder why that song has come to you now, but it does not
take you long to understand why. Although it was more poetic in its
original tongue, thinking of those words, in this language, you see
the significance. Once again you head out after your prey, knowing
that today is not the day for resolution, but the end must be near.
(It's your end!)
