In the early days of Geocaching fallenfaery and Special Ed started
a tradition to recognize those who pass a major milestone by
placing milestone caches. After all these years the tradition still
carries on today and is just a small way to congratulate local
cachers on their efforts. In continuation of this tradition, this
cache is placed for Tzinny honoring his accomplishments.
We are honoring Tzinny in three ways: by placing a cache in a
location and hiding style that is special to him, and sharing
special messages with him on this cache page.
Feel free to add a message to Tzinny when you log the cache
online!
From ecomaven:
Buddy- it's been a pleasure to watch your new hobby grow into a
full blown obsession! I still remember stumbling through those
first few caches with you- funny to think about as you search for
your 2000th cache. It's really cool that you are such a strong
member of the Chicago Geocaching community... finally some new
friends after a 13 year dry spell.
I look forward to finding caches with you long into our future. May
you continue to hone your geo-sense, get few mosquito bites, repel
ticks, and never have a flat tire on the hides ahead.
From n9tog:
Tzinny was one of the first cachers I met! I've learned how much
more fun it can be caching with someone else - even if it means
driving all the way up to Gurnee for a bunch of lampskirts!!
Caching with Tzinny is always well organized - he is the master of
the map and always has a BIG list and a small list of caches to
hit--and he keeps that list to finish off an area in the near
future. He is always determined to find a cache-especially once he
gets a cache stuck in his head, he will find it-guaranteed! Here a
couple of memories of past cache outings:
-The first time we cached in Illinois, Tzinny showed me a location
for a cache in Highland Park - it was a quick grab - except that I
stepped in a huge pile of dog poop while grabbing it!
-When meeting Tzinny in the woods, I can never find the right
parking spot. I swear he told me to turn at the big tree, and that
he's parked by the shelter and the garbage cans!
-Tzinny is not afraid of muggles--it doesn't matter if they live
across the street, are taking out the trash at the donut shop, or
delivering pizzas--maybe he's just invisible to muggles?
-He is the go-to cacher for help on local caches, especially
Trust Me and Tunnelin' and is always willing to
lend a hand!!
Congratulations on finding 2,000 - can't wait for 3,000!
From piperpals:
Tzinny -- When we decided to give you the gift of a GPSr and a book
about geocaching for your birthday, we hoped you'd like it but we
didn't know if you would. Little did we know what a geocaching
juggernaut you would turn out to be. Not sure you ever read the
book, but apparently you've figured it out. Happy 2000th! Now slow
down so we can catch up to you. Congratulations. -- Piperpals

From Tachoknight:
Tzinny is a great cacher in every sense of the word; he's fearless
when it comes to climbing trees or navigating difficult terrain on
a bike. He's also placed some really cool caches and come up with
some pretty tricky puzzles, all of which have, so far, left me in
awe and wonder; specifically wondering how I'm going to solve them.
Caching with Tzinny is essentially a guarantee that you're going to
have a fun time, but watch out…if the cache is in a tree
it's likely he'll beat you to it.
From TurtleFan:
TurtleFan’s selections from the top 2K reasons why Tzinny is
so important to the geocaching community and beyond:
-The upper echelons of trees would feel left out as fewer people
would visit them.
-The police would have fewer speeding tickets to issue.
-We’d have fewer fun milestone caches out there.
-We’d run around in a much less organized manner when hunting
caches in an area.
-We wouldn’t know how to be STiLL in Northbrook.
-We’d know less about sculptures in the Loop.
-Foreigners would be less likely to learn about Washington and the
cherry tree.
-We wouldn’t know as much about the Cubs.
-We wouldn’t have all the Girl Scout Cookie types
memorized.
-We wouldn’t have words like
Superziniefragilistictinnzyalidocious
From Slainte1969:
From one geocaching name that no one can pronounce to another -
congrats on 2,000, Tzinny! While it took me several months to
finally get his name right (his geocaching name, not his real
name), it didn't take me long to recognize he's as great a friend
as he is a geocacher! Tzinny embodies all that is wonderful about
caching - creative caches, adventurous spirit, camaraderie with
others, and always in for an amazing time. I have great memories of
the caching fun with Tzinny and only wish my schedule allowed for
more of them! Here's to Tzinny, his great milestone, and many more
adventures to come! Well done, my friend!
Now it's your turn - post your log and a message to Tzinny on
finding 2,000 caches!
Congrats to Tzinny on honorary FTF (with an assist by
Tachoknight!)
