This cache has been archived.

Grasy: Unfortunately building work near the site of the cache has made this impossible to maintain so I am archiving it. I hope to do a new cache in the area in the near future.

Geocache Description:

The area around Cromer and Overstrand is known as Poppyland, christened that by the journalist and writer Clement Scott in 1883. Indeed when you reach the final cache if it's at the correct time of the year you may well see swathes of poppies.

To find the cache you will need to solve a series of clues around the lovely town of Cromer. The cache itself is about a mile and half out of town.

The co-ordinates given mark the start of the trail and are only a short distance from The Meadow car park.

Clue 1: Mary Jane 5112C8

After finding your first answer you’ll need to walk towards the church then head round the back to find the second answer, which can be clearly seen from the footpath.

Clue 2: John Henry Earle 1809-185A

From here there is a handy little cut through to the town’s museum which is close to the next clue

Clue 3: Text 842F8

Next cross the road and head all the way up Bond Street towards Cross Street.

Clue 4: Lecture Hall 189D

Now you’ll need to head out of town on the Overstrand Road, the rest of the clues can be tackled relatively easily by car if you wish. Clue number 5 is at the two mini roundabouts, but you do need to be at the exact location to ensure you get it right. You should be able to touch them all from the path, and they are all above waist height!

Clue 5:Number of E’s

Then continue heading towards Overstrand to pick up the final clue.

Clue 6: Memorial erected 190B
