George Bush Park is a wonderful place for geocaching. Although many
start out fearing the unknown, once you spend a few days hiking
along the trails you realize that although you must always be
watchful of snakes and critters, it is actually not as scary as
people may assume. Over the past several months there has been a
dramatic increase in the number of caches located within the park
boundaries. FamilieRyan decided that he would start a Puzzle cache
series for "GeoCachers Who Love George Bush Park" or "GCWLGBP" for
short. He encouraged other folks to add to the series, so here is
another contribution using the same general puzzle format.
Recently there appears to be a bit of tension amongst the usual
GBP geocachers. It is probably due to the fact that for a lot of
the summer the park was not readily accessible due to the high
amounts of water, mosquitoes, overgrown thorns, poison ivy and the
high temperature/high humidity days. Listen in! Here are some
comments that have been made:
Criffree: I’ve been begging ManofSteel73 for a hint on
that cache but he won’t give me a thing.
TeamCull: "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse."
Familieryan: Wow its dark out and this cache is a high terrain
rating.
Geogeex: "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy
night."
Mrs. Davarle: Trust me! I’ve been in this part of GBP
before.
Mr. Davarle: “...I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas
anymore."
Agtitan: I’m tired of your impossible puzzles. I’m
going to get revenge.
Grangerfam: “Go ahead, make my day!”
Atennisbabe: Airplanes are the key to slaying Benttandem’s
beast of a puzzle- King Kong Lives. .
Maxwell’s Hammer: "Oh, no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was
Beauty killed the Beast."
Mrs. Muddy Buddies: I solved this puzzle before you.
Mr. Muddy Buddies: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
Bografan and Raven: Why are you bringing us into this God
forsaken part of GBP? .
OneStepCloser: "Carpe diem Seize the day, boys. Make your lives
extraordinary."
Kirbydox: You know you ought to be grateful that I solved this
puzzle.
Fendmar: "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of
the earth."
Cookcachers: The stars will have to be aligned for me to find
this cache.
Easygroomer: "May the force be with you."
Cachestacker: What do you mean your Ma provided the
solution?
Rocky4: "A boy's best friend is his mother."
Can you figure out the location of the cache from the above
snippy comments?
There is easy access to the levee by parking at N 29 47.000/ W
95 41.000 but a long walk (~1.6 miles RT). Parking at N 29 46.840/
W 95 38.740 results in a 0.2 mile RT but raise the terrain rating
by having to go down a steep bank and hopping across a stream that
could get deep with rain.
