Geocache Description:

The cache is a camouflaged magnetic 35mm film pot containing a log and pencil.

An easy cache dash but please read the long description and guess what I am..

My ancestors were created by Mr Giles Gilbert Scott (Who was also the architect who designed Liverpool Cathedral) and you would have first noticed us in 1920. We started life as the K1 model but the design was quite different and would not be as recognizable as we are today.
Very few remarkable examples of my ancestors remain. There is one shining example located in Trinity market in Kingston-upon-Hull where it is still in use today.

Things improved when we were redesigned internally and all painted the same colour.
We became a national icon and there have been several models but I think I am the K6.
My current form was fashioned in 1935 but our overall design has remained virtually unchanged.
Approximately 163,000 of us were produced between 1935 and the late 60's.
There was a massive redesign and our form changed dramatically in the 80s and 90s particularly in Urban areas where we were constantly being abused.
We were very popular until then, but like everything... Technology caught up and I am now a dying breed.

Please take care as there lots of muggles peering at you through their beer goggles.. Also please replace as found.

CONGRATULATIONS to Ruth of the 5Taylors on her very first FTF.
I was pleased to meet the 5Taylors which included Ruth and her sister Claire at the GZ just in time to witness the FTF.
Well done Ruth.
