Hilton Habitat Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Tom Bombadil: Hello

I am archiving this listing because it appears that the permission that was granted for this geocache by Mr. David S. Martin, Principal of Hilton Elementary School has either been revoked or forgotten. Should permission be established once again this listing can be unarchived and made available once again.

I am not watching this listing so if you need to contact me then please do it by emailing me through my profile.

Respectfully
Tom Bombadil

Geocache Description:

COME LEARN ABOUT THE HILTON HABITAT!!!

Hilton Elementary, located on Mill Road in Brecksville, is one of three Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District elementary schools. Mrs. Little_Bear is currently in charge of the school's outdoor classroom area, the Hilton Habitat, where teachers can take the kindergarten through third grade students outside to learn about their environment, reinforcing concepts learned in the classroom. More can be learned about this outdoor classroom by visiting:

hiltonhabitat.weebly.com

Mrs. Little_Bear will be developing activities around cache visitors (for example, one idea is to have the students graph the number of visitors by month). THE FOLLOWING IS NOT REQUIRED TO GET A SMILEY, but we ask that you please answer the following questions in your online log entry:

1. What city and state do you call home?
2. What did you do during your Habitat visit besides finding the geocache?
3. Did you see any wildlife during your visit? Or evidence of wildlife in the area? (Photos appreciated!)

Finally, this cache is located on school grounds with the permission of the principal. He has asked for the following rules to be followed, or else the cache will need to be archived:

(1) The cache is not sought during school hours (8AM to 4PM, weekdays) - cache may be sought during these hours only during extended holiday breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, summertime).
(2) Cachers do not attempt to find the cache at night.
(3) Cachers respect the outdoor classroom area (and perhaps pull a weed or two!).

The cache is intended to be easy to find and family-friendly, so bring the little ones and feel free to enjoy the area - pick a flower or two, pick a weed or 100, harvest some fresh herbs, hunt for Habitat "inhabitants" and whatever else you can think of!

Big thanks to Mr. Martin, the school's principal, for supporting geocaching and allowing us to place this cache so others may see the work being done in the Hilton Habitat.
