This bell tower was still being built when I first came to the U of I to study. Previously, there was only one bell tower in Altgeld Hall, which is for the Department of Mathematics.
During the construction of the tower, someone put an eye on the unfinished tower because unfinished tower really looked like the Tower of Sauron in the Lord of the Rings.
The tower was once designed as a clock tower, but eventually the clock was removed from the design. Although the bell tower still chimes at every 15 minutes, I still think that having a clock will look better, Therefore, I propose the following plan:
