At this location you will find Gabions. They have been placed here
to stop water erosion as high water levels after a storm used to
create erosion in this area.
Gabion strength comes from a double twisted hexagonal mesh of steel
wire which is reinforced by heavier wire running along the edges.
The double twisted wire will not unravel, even when cut.
Gabions very easy to assemble, require no specialized labor and
nearby rock can be used for fill. Gabion structures offer free
drainage providing a higher bank stability when used for river bank
protection
