Geocache Description:

Please stop at the Visitor Center before heading out to the caches to receive the Duke Farms Geocache Guide which includes questions to answer at each site.This cache is located in the crotch of a Sycamore tree along the 1.25-mile Walk on the Wild Side self-guided nature trail. The cache is a small, clear plastic container with an "official geocache" sticker on top. Inside the cache you will find a logbook and pencil.

Rules and Hours for Visiting Duke Farms to conduct Geocaching:


All Geocaches at Duke Farms are located along the Walk on the Wild Side Trail and abide by the same schedule and rules as the trail. Please read below to find hours of operations and our rules and regulations for the trail and geocaching.


Walk on the Wild Side is FREE and open to the public.


Tour Schedule
This self-guided nature trail is open year-round on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Reservations are not required.
It is always recommended that you call ahead for trail availability at (908) 722-3700. Closings may occur due to inclement weather conditions or trail maintenance. It also is a good idea to check the weather before you come and to make sure that you wear appropriate clothing.

Trail Rules and Guidelines :
To help make your walk as enjoyable to others as it will be to you:

  • Leave flowers and other vegetation as you find them.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult and be within reach at all times for their safety. Accompanying adults/ parents must supervise and control their children.
  • No smoking, alcohol or drugs.
  • No littering - place all trash in the proper receptacles.
  • No radios or CD players.
  • Treat other visitors with courtesy and respect their privacy.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Do not disturb or chase the wildlife.
  • Remain on the designated path at all times. Do not enter any areas marked Private, Staff Only, or No Public Access. Do not cross into any cordoned areas.
  • Visitors must be appropriately attired; shoes must be worn at all times.
