This is a silver magnetic nano hid with permission in a park honoring 1800 local veterans by name engraved on nine granite tablets. Please be respectful and thankful for the service of the nation's veterans.

The Veteran's Honor Park is the site of Hartford's moving annual Veterans Day parade and program. An annual Memorial Day Program is also held there, and the patriotic Hartford folk turn out in force wearing red, white, and blue. These programs are outstanding, and everyone should check them out! It gives everyone a chance to show their respect and appreciation to Veterans and their families.

They began with 5 tablets and just dedicated the 9th tablet at the Memorial Day Program May 29, 2011. This is an ongoing project, so they are always accepting names of Veterans for the park. They want their name, branch of service, and war fought. Currently 1800 names are listed on the 9 tablets. The white crosses on the hill at the back represent one for each person on the tablets that was Killed in Action.

When you are here, be sure to also find another ArkGeocache one block away in Alexander Park.
