Geocache Description:

Eilean Nam Muc aka the Isle of Muck is the most southerly and smallest of the four Small Isles. The island is owned and farmed by the MacEwen family and this cache was hidden with their kind help and support. Please leave the stamp in the box; it's NOT a swap item!

Muck's Wikipedia page has a lot of information on the island.

The given co-ords are NOT where the cache is hidden but they do point to a location it would be useful to visit on the way to the cache, which has views of another cache of mine. In order to find this hidden box, you'll need to follow the clues below...

Muck! Muck! The name alone should bring you here,
But in truth, the locals have nothing to fear.
Their island's charm and welcome warm
Help less juvenile impressions t' form.
Take the Green Shed shop, say,
Which is open 24/A.

Before you got there, did you see
Muck Terminal, opened 200B?
You no longer have to climb up like Selina Scott
From a little boat, at the old dock.
She visited for a BBC documentary,
Some time around 1983...

The next question you may have to ask
Or check online, if you're fast.
The MacEwen family has owned Muck
Since 18C6 - their good luck!

Now pass the restaurant and craft shop,
Walk, jog, run, cycle or hop
Along the island's only road to the co-ords, above.
To find a gateway to the trig-pint, with 360° views to love.
Climb all the way up, from gate to gate,
To locate S97D7 upon a plate!

Now you have all you need,
To find the cache; to succeed,
But really the treasure,
Is Muck itself; a genuine pleasure.
The peace, the lack of midge! They even have magnets for your fridge!
The box close by you will locate
at N56° 49.(A+1)(C-A)C W006° 1D.BCC - Somewhere to hate-
If you don't like drops, so beware!
It's not too near the edge but please, take care.

Huge thanks to the MacEwen family for their permission to hide this cache, and to Lawrence MacEwen for his warm welcome to his delightful 'kingdom'. Many thanks too to Ruth MacEwen for her help in maintaining the cache.

Other caches in the Small Isles series: Rum, Eigg and Canna. Plus a 2nd Eigg Box.
