Village provençal blotti autour de son port, Saint-Mandrier a su préserver son patrimoine et conserver son âme de village. Doté, dit-on, d'un microclimat, il abrite des plages naturelles et des espaces verts jalonnés par le Sentier du Littoral. L'origine du nom de la commune remonte au VIe siècle lorsque Mandrianus et Flavianus, deux illustres soldats saxons de l'armée des Ostrogoths, baptisés par Saint-Cyprien prêtre de Toulon, vinrent se réfugier sur « l'Isle de Sépet » où ils vécurent jusqu'à leur mort.

Village of Provence snuggled around its port, Saint-Mandrier has preserved his inheritance and its heart of village. With its typical microclimate, it shelters natural beaches and green spaces marked out by a seashore trail. The village’s name origin goes back to the 6th century when Mandrianus and Flavianus, two famous Saxon soldiers of the Ostrogothics army, baptized by Saint-Cyprien, priest of Toulon, took refuge on the “Isle de Sépet” where they lived until their death.
