Geocache Description:

This cache should only be approached from the given access co-ordinates. It is not accessible from the main A394 Penzance to Helston road. The cache was placed wearing Wellingtons and these are strongly recommended or come prepared for a paddle. After heavy rain the approach may be inaccessible due to the stream flow- keep safety uppermost in your mind. Children will need adult supervision/assistance in places.

Placed at Roseladden Bridge which was built in 1842, just as Porthleven came to it’s peak as a thriving port. The bridge was subsequently widened in 1984 and when you get to the cache site you can see the difference between the original traditional granite structure and the less aesthetic modern structure. From the main road both parapets look similar although the modern one has cracked. The centre of the unnamed stream which the bridge spans marks the parish boundary between Porthleven and Breage.
The cache was placed to celebrate Elfin Safety's forthcoming 600th cache and 60th birthday. This traditional cache will need a little preparation to reach comfortably. You're looking for a cylindrical screw topped container of approximately 0.5 litre capacity suitable for small swaps. It contains a log, pen and swap items, with an unregistered FTF coin for the first to find in the container. There is parking for one car at the access point or a large lay by at the road junction on the Penzance side 50 meters distant. Parking & the access point is at N500 06.037 W0050 19.188
This should be an enjoyable cache to find under normal conditions and this was the aim after all who doesn’t enjoy a paddle. Photos with your log entry would be nice.
