This is the start of a travel bug race from Jersey to New Jersey!

THE EVENT:
The meeting place is the Old Portlet Inn at 1500 where, weather being well, I will be in the front garden with my hat on (if the weather is bad I will be in the bar with my hat on) Hat: (visit link)
I will have all the TB's for the race with me so people can log them, discuss tactics, design, longevity etc.
At approx 1630 I will travel to the cache and place the bugs for the race!
Cachers will then be free to move a few bugs if they so desire. (keeping within the rules of course!)

RULES OF THE RACE:
The starting cache will be (visit link) "Portlet"
Any TB's wanting to be in the race must make their way to this cache for Sunday 24th July 2011. If you wish to use the postal service to send a TB for the start of the race use 'Send a message' (visit link)
All TB's have to be registered on www.geocaching.com The race organiser will enter the TB's in to the race.
At approx 1630 the race will begin!
Local Geocachers will be allowed to move any of the TB's (EXCEPT THEIR OWN) to another traditional type cache on Jersey only. A CACHER MUST NOT MOVE THEIR OWN BUG ONCE THE RACE HAS STARTED.
TB's must travel from cache to cache with a cacher and not be send via post or any other method once the race has started.
The finish will be:
(visit link) "Travel Bug Train Stop"
The first TB to reach this cache wins. The TB will be verified as in the cache by one of a team of NJ volunteer cachers.

If anyone needs a few 'race instructions' to attach to their bugs I will have some spare with me.

More info on the race is available at (visit link)

Thanks to the Mundy Family for the start cache and TwoCat and ekitt10 for organising the finish.
