Geocache Description:

A cache on Triopetra peninsula in the south of Crete, named after the three impressive rocks that form the very end of it. In Greek Triopetra means Three Rocks.

It's a rocky peninsula that separates two beaches, also called Triopetra, that offers taverns and rooms to let. The western one, where the given parking coordinates lead you, is bigger and is called Akoumiani Gialia or Megali(=big) Triopetra. The eastern one is smaller with a small harbour and is called just Triopetra.

If you are lucky and it’s not very windy you can go swimming and snorkeling around the rocks in the turquoise clear waters, an unforgettable experience.

There are many compliments on this area from people who believe in yoga. It is believed that it’s the perfect place to rediscover yourself and they return again and again to the area with this breathtaking scenery to soak up its unbelievable energy. There are many yoga centers in the greater area.

How to go to Triopetra

Take the road to the south of Rethymnon that passes through Armeni and Spili. At the village of Akoumia turn to the west and follow the signs till the end of the road.

The cache

The cache is a small lock and lock plastic container with a logbook, a pen and some small goods to trade. Please hide well and safely again.

Good and steady shoes are recommended because climbing up the rocks and looking for the cache is not easy for everybody, especially if you don’t like heights very much. So, let’s make it safe!
