Geocache Description:

This cache overlooks the Theewaterskloof Dam and replaces the previous cache that was in this area.

Theewaterskloof Dam, on the Riviersonderend River near Villiersdorp, has a gross capacity of 480 million cubic metres and a net annual yield of 219 million cubic metres. It is one of five main dams, or dam complexes, currently supplying the greater metropolitan Cape Town area with most of its water. Known for its Large and Small Mouth Bass, Theewaterskloof Dam also has some Trout and Carp. This venue is rated as one of Southern Africa's top Large Mouth Bass locations. Due to the sheer size of the dam it makes the perfect location for populating Large Mouth Bass. A boat is a good idea as the dam is quite big although fishing from the shore is also possible in certain areas. Located only 1.5 hours drive from Cape Town, makes it ideal for a day out fishing.

Theewaterskloof Dam is set in the Helderberg Mountains and is nestled between the towns of Franschhoek and Villiersdorp.

The cache site is near the dam wall.
