Geocache Description:

***Cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates***

Here is a challenge for all of the local cachers. Even some cachers who visit a lot might be able to do this challenge. The City of Rochester owns 121 parks covering more than 3500 acres. The largest is Quarry Hill Park at 302 acres. The smallest is United Way at 0.1 acres. The goal of this challenge is to bring you to all these little known corners of the city. This challenge is going to be dynamic. What that means is that the number of caches needed to complete the challenge will change as the city grows. In order to qualify for the challenge you must find a cache in all of the city parks.

Once you have found the necessary caches create a list. You can use a bookmark list, spreadsheet, or a note. Be sure to include the name of the park, park number, GC#, and date found. If you have any questions as to if a cache is in a park or not, email the challenge owner for a ruling. I will keep a list in the special rules section of my judgements.

Rules of the Challenge:

  1. You must find a cache in all 121 parks in the park system.
  2. Previous finds do count, this includes archived caches.
  3. Due to the size of some of the parks, the physical cache location is what matters for puzzles and multis. Yes, I know where they all are.
  4. Your own caches count towards the total. A lot of the parks only have room for one cache and one park (Indian Heights) is saturated with only one cacher's hides.
  5. All cache types count, this includes Wherigos, Events and CITOs.
  6. SOC can be used for your list. If the only cache in a park is a SOC, and you are not a premium member, let me know and we can work out an alternative cache selection.
  7. While working on this challenge, in all of its aspects, you will need to obey city ordinance 45B.
  8. If you have any questions regarding a cache and whether or not it qualifies for a particular park, ask the Challenge Owner. All rulings will be posted on the cache page under the Special Rules Section.

Special Rules Section:

  1. GCMDER counts for John Withers Sports Complex, park #85.
  2. GC2PJTM does not count for Morris Hills, park #118
  3. Since Diamond Ridge West, park #97, is still farmland, use GC2VDA3.
  4. GC2DD1T and GC24G25 count for Good Shepard, park #114.
  5. GC2QB87 counts for Zumbro West, park # 72, not Cascade Lake, park #8.
  6. GC1067G and GC1XW25 are not located in Northern Slopes, park #46. The actually park is located 0.15 miles SE. Google Maps is wrong in this case.
  7. GC1WV7T is not in Elmcroft, park #20.
  8. If you have no other cache to use for Glendale, park #98, you may use GC2HW4J. If you use this cache, it does not count for Northern Heights, park #43.
  9. GC38JY9 NWO: Nano World Order - Evolution is spread out through multiple parks. This cache will count for only one park. I will let you choose which park you want to use since some of them are on the small side.
  10. GC37YWA Large Numbers of Cachers' Reduced to Pairs does count towards Glendal Hills, park #98.
  11. The Battleship Series by mnboyscout will help with this challenge. All caches have ben vetted.
