offline.cacher: The general rule reviewers use to archive a cache is that the cache owner has been notified (through a log entry) by the reviewer and that no response has been forthcoming. This is the case with this cache. As a result it has been archived.

Geocache Description:

Visit the Rappahannock Chapter of the National Railroad
Historical Society! And find one of the geocaches in
the Railroad Knutz series while you are there!!

The Rappahannock Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of historical railroad equipment in the Fredericksburg area. They provide education to the public in regard to railroad lines and related events in the area. The chapter keeps its railroad equipment at 11700 Main Street in the Spotsylvania County Industrial Park just off of US Route 2/17 south of Fredericksburg. Visitors are welcome to tour the equipment on Saturdays from 9 A.M. to Noon, but this may not be the best time to look for the cache!

We would have loved to have placed the cache on some of the rolling stock of the museum, but, as the museum volunteers helpfully pointed out, rolling stock can roll and they do actually sometimes rearrange the cars which would change the coordinates of the cache. So, you will find the cache on more stationary equipment in the yard.

For more information about the chapter and its equipment, please go to their website at www.RCNRHS.com.

This cache is part of the Railroad Knutz series by the Cachew Knutz. For information about the series and the fabulous golden spike for the first to find the whole series, please check out the ultimate cache in the series, RR Knutz: The Golden Spike.
