Geocacher's Logic

A new cache has been released. A furious hunt for an unexpected FTF begins. With one leg in trousers, I’m jumping to the hall for my shoes. While putting the jacket on, I’m pulling the always ready GPS from the charger. In the doorway I pocket my mobile and geopen and ruuuuun. Many know what I’m writing about.

This is how it looked like on 06.05.2011 when a new little question mark appeared on the Žilina geomap.

I had a look at the logs - nobody yet. I’ve got to do this one. Well, who can solve it? Is there any software? Shall I ask my wife, daughter or roommate to do it? Or do I have to do it myself? Damn it, I’ll waste too much time, definitely they’ll shoot ahead of me… I’ll call 9264 he might help. He did – I shall use my logic. So I’m trying to break it myself.
Finally done - maybe I can still make it…

The first evening, there were five who managed. By chance, they all were from different parts of the town and their caching skills also varied according to the caches found. So, when you dig through the clues you can find out who managed to find it first, how many points each cacher had and where they were from.

When the message about a new cache beeped, the cacher with 154 founds was just on the business trip, so that night he was the last one to log. However, to be among the top three was no problem for such an experienced cacher who had found 720 caches already. Zahada is only starting his cacher’s career so he had only 27 points more than our absolute beginner. His name wasn’t written at the TTF position as this one was logged by the cacher from Hliny. The most skilled cacher was either from Solinky or Vlčince, while the one who was from the centre is in number of founds right behind him. Considering the number of caches, zakeser wasn’t a complete beginner. Nickname of the cacher from Vlčince is MrKvas – but nobody knows why. 2lak, who wasn’t from the centre, arrived absolutely exhausted just to find out that the FTF had just been logged by someone else.
