Vou vos contar uma história....
I'll tell you a story ....
Era uma vez, num reino lá longe, a que chamavam de Atlântida, que diziam ficar no meio de um vasto oceano e que era recheado de paraísos, algo que nunca ninguém tinha conhecido, e todos os que partiram em busca deste reino nunca voltaram. Para uns, seria um engodo para um monstro marinho ou algo terrível que destruía tudo e não deixava ninguém vivo, para outros era um reino tão belo, tão belo, que os que o encontravam nunca mais queria regressar e de lá sair, de tão belo que era!
Ora, um dia um destemido rapaz, farto de histórias que já os seus antepassados contavam, decidiu aventurar-se e partiu sozinho em busca deste reino. Em pouco tempo chegou a um local que ele nunca tinha ouvido falar, e depressa pensou que seria Atlântida, o reino temido...ou querido!
Desembarcou...e logo se deslumbrou com a paisagem!
Once upon a time in a kingdom far away, they called Atlantis, said to be in the middle ofa vast ocean and it was full of havens, something that nobody had ever known, and allwho went in search of this kingdom never came back. For some it would be a decoy fora sea monster or something terrible that destroyed everything and left no one alive, forothers it was a kingdom so beautiful, so beautiful, that those who were never wanted togo back and get out there, so beautiful it was!
But one day a brave young man, full of stories he had told his ancestors, decided toventure out and set off alone in search of this kingdom. Soon came to a place he had never heard, and quickly thought it would be Atlantis, the kingdom feared ... or dear!
... and soon landed was taken aback by the scenery!
Numa das histórias que ele tinha ouvido falava-se de um lugar mágico, onde a água caía do céu como se de uma fonte se tratasse...e que podíamos estar debaixo dela sempre, pois era inesgotável. Diziam que ficava num vale muito bonito, cheio de prados verdes, mas que para lá chegar tinha que ultrapassar muitos obstáculos, nomeadamente o rio que se formava nessa fonte...aliás, era a unica maneira de lá chegar.
Dizia-se também que nesse local havia de encontrar um tesouro, mas que para o encontrar tinha que passar para o outro lado da fonte, num local de contemplação...mais curioso ele ficou!
Chegado a um local perto do caminho onde havia de deixar o seu transporte, encontrou umas velhas ruínas, com um prado cheio de umas plantas que ele não conhecia...pareciam dar um fruto amarelo, que ele não hesitou em provar. Uma delicia! Pensou ele. A seus pés estava a correr um riacho de águas límpidas, onde ele matou a sua sede. Sentiu que aquela água tinha algo de mágico, e acreditou na história que tinha ouvido: só podia ser ali!
In one of the stories he had heard there was talk of a magical place where the water fellfrom the sky as if it were a source ... and we could always be under her, it wasinexhaustible. They said it was a very beautiful valley, full of green meadows, but to get there had to overcome many obstacles, including the river that formed this source ... itwas the only way to get there.
It was also said that this place had to find a treasure, but to find it had to go to the otherside of the source, a place of contemplation ... he was more curious!
Arrived at a site near the road where he had to leave his carriage, he found some oldruins, with a meadow full of some plants that he did not know ... seemed to give a yellow fruit, which he did not hesitate to prove. A delight! He thought. At his feet was a rivulet ofclear water, where he killed his headquarters. He felt that water was something magical, and believed the story he had heard, could only be there!
E ele não hesitou...pegou nos seus haveres, e partiu pelo riacho que corria a seus pés. Galgou pedras e mais pedras, atravessou florestas e matos, desbravou caminhos, mas sempre sem perder de vista o riacho que o levaria a esse local paradisíaco, onde diziam que as donzelas se banhavam.
And he did not hesitate ... took his belongings and departed for the creek that flowed at his feet. Climbed over rocks and stones, went through forests and scrubland, blazed trails, but without losing sight of the creek that would lead to that heavenly place, wherethey said that the maidens were bathing.
Ele sentia que se estava a aproximar...a vegetação tornava-se cada vez mais luxuriante, e o vale parecia fechar-se sobre ele.

Por vezes o caminho parecia não existir, mas ele bravo e corajoso como era nunca desistiu nem hesitou, com o cajado que tinha na mão desbravou mato e abriu caminho. Parecia que nunca ali ninguém tinha estado...mas seria possível?

E eis que de repente pareceu-lhe ouvir água, mas de um maneira suave, quase como se de um chamamento se tratasse...como se fosse alguém a sussurrar...e ele apressou o passo, e depois da ultima curva os seus olhos levantaram-se e viram algo belo, indescritível:

Que magnífico!! Que espectáculo!!
Era certamente o local que ele tinha ouvido falar nas histórias dos seus antepassados!
E aproximou-se mais...de tão perto que estava podia tocar na água que caía do céu!
How magnificent! What a sight!
It was certainly the place he had heard the stories of their ancestors!
And closer to that ... it was so close I could touch the water falling from the sky!
Parecia uma sonho...do céu caiam duas fontes, e tal era a altura que quando a água cá chegava abaixo parecia uma chuva ligeira, que por vezes levada pelo vento molhava tudo em redor. Ele não se importava, pois achava que aquela água só podia ser divina...algo assim tão belo não podia exisitir no reino dos Homens.
Subiu um pouco, até onde conseguia, pois ali terminava aquele caminho...era uma espécie de anfiteatro com largas dezenas de metros de altura a toda a volta, excepto no local de onde ele tinha vindo, do riacho que levava a água que ali caía. Do local onde consegiui chegar, avistou por fim o enorme lago onde ia cair a água destas duas fonte, teria cerca de umas oito parelhas de cavalos de comprimento (uns 16metros) por uns 5 de largura (uns 10metros). Parecia ser muito fundo, e ele pensou que era ali que as donzelas deste reino mágico se vinham banhar.

E foi então que ele se lembrou do tesouro...e começou a pensar onde poderia estar. Falava-se que ficava no local onde as donzelas ia banhar-se...mas elas não mergulhavam, apenas deixavam a água correr pelos seus corpos...era num local onde se atravessava a água para o outro lado sem se molhar! Onde seria tal sítio? Tinha que ser alto!
E foi então que ele se apercebeu de um local de contemplação, um local onde a água caía na rocha depois de várias dezenas de metros pelo ar, e onde daí escorria pela rocha negra dos vulcões até ao lago...e como chegaria ele lá? Tinha de descobrir!
E começou a trepar por entre aquela vegetação...parecia que não havia trilho, e foi o seu cajado que o ajudou a subir tão inclinada encosta até a um patamar que mais parecia uma gruta...eis que consegiu chegar ao local onde tal como a história contava a água caía do céu e onde se podia tomar banho, passando por trás da água sem se molhar! Era ali!
And then he remembered the treasure ... and began to think where it could be. There was talk that was the place where the maidens would bathe them ... but not diving, justlet the water run for their bodies ... it was a place where they crossed the water to theother side without getting wet! Where would such a place? It had to be loud!
It was then that he realized a place of contemplation, a place where the water fell on therock after several tens of meters through the air, and then ran down where the black rockof volcanoes across the lake ... and how he would arrive there ? I had to find out!
And he began to climb through that vegetation ... it seemed that there was no trail, and it was his staff who helped him climb as steep a slope to the level that was more like acave ... behold, managed to get to where such As history had the water fell from the skyand where they could bathe, passing behind the water without getting wet! It was there!
E começou a procurar...o local era tão fechado que mal se conseguia ver o céu...de repente olhou para trás e a cerca de 15m da cascata viu algo...

E descobriu o tesouro!! Foi um misto de alegria e espanto, por afinal a história ser verdadeira, mas também porque se alguém a contou era porque alguém já ali tinha estado antes. Seria alguém que ele conhecia?
Enquanto pegava no tesouro, sentou-se e descansou. Olhou para aquele lugar paradisíaco mais uma vez. Contemplou a água a cair e na sorte que teve em descobrir aquele local. De vez em quando o vento trazia a água até ele em pequenas gotas que molhavam tudo em redor.
He found the treasure! It was a mixture of joy and astonishment, after the story was true,but because if someone told it was because someone there had ever been before. Wassomeone he knew?
As he took the treasure, he sat and rested. Looked at that paradise once again.Included the water to fall and lucky I was to discover that location. Occasionally the windbrought to him in the water droplets that watered all around.
Pegou no tesouro e depois de pensar bem, voltou a escondê-lo no mesmo local. Se aquele lugar tinha magia, não seria ele que iria tirar um pouco dessa magia, e o tesouro ficou para que outros aventureiros como ele também um dia ali pudessem chegar e terem o prazer de também eles o encontrarem!
E regressou. Pelo mesmo caminho, pois não há outra maneira de ali chegar. Nem de sair. Enquanto regressava, pensava naquele lugar mágico e no que iria contar quando regressasse à sua terra. Até podia ninguém acreditar nele mas não importava, só ele sabia o que tinha encontrado ali. E resolveu dar um nome àquele local maravilhoso, para que se um dia alguém quissesse ter aquela aventura soubesse o nome do local:

No entanto, quando regressou e contou a história de Heavens Falls a todos, deixou algumas recomendações:
| - Levar sempre um cajado ou ou bastão de caminhada, será imprescindível para ajudar a subir e descer o rio e para abrir alguns trilhos no mato, pois como o local não é frequentado os caminhos ficam obstruídos.
- Prepare-se para se molhar , por isso leve calçado apropriado para montanha e que seja resistente à agua. Poderá ter que atravessar o rio com alguma corrente, a solução poderá ser roupa que se possa molhar, mas calções não é recomendado, pois o mato irá maltratar as pernas.
- Piso escorregadio. Tenha em conta também na escolha do calçado.
- A expedição poderá demorar entre 1.30h a 3h (ida e volta), dependendo do andamento de cada um e do caudal do rio. Se achar que a corrente é demasiada, não arrisque! A sua segurança está sempre primeiro!
- Evitar levar crianças. Além de ser perigoso, pode fazer demorar muito a expedição.
- Poderá não ter rede de telemóvel no local, por isso avise sempre alguém que vai para ali, e nunca mas NUNCA VÁ SOZINHO!
- Os metros finais de aproximação ao tesouro são de extrema dificuldade. Tenha em atenção que esta cache não é para todos, e que deve ter sempre a sua segurança e a dos que o acompanham em primeiro lugar. Tome nota dos atributos e graus de Dificuldade e Terreno!
- Se optar por fazer parte do percurso pelos prados adjacentes ao rio (poderá ser mais fácil nos metros iniciais na ida e finais no regresso) tenha sempre o cuidado de fechar os portões e não remova as vedações, o local é frequentado por animais que não devem fugir dali. E cuidado, apesar de o gado ser manso não facilite. Evite os encontros imediatos.
- A melhor altura para fazer o percurso é na primavera ou no outono, pois o rio não está tão cheio e ainda há água nas cascatas. No inverno pode estar muito cheio, no verão pode estar seco.
- Aproveite e leve o fato de banho se o tempo ajudar.:)
- Não se esqueça de levar muita água e máquina fotográfica, não se irá arrepender!

E chegados ao fim desta história, resta-me dizer que ela é verdadeira, apenas as donzelas eram uma lenda, nem o nosso explorador nem ninguém as viu a tomar banho no local...quem sabe se você não terá essa sorte!:)
