Brandys nad Labem, starobyle mesto uprostred urodneho Polabi, proslavil v novodobe historii
19. stoleti velkoprumyslnik a nejvyznamnejsi vynalezce v oboru zemedelskych stroju v cechach Frantisek Melichar (1842-1907). V roce 1887, jizne od historickeho jadra mesta a v blizkosti prave dostavovane zeleznice, zakoupil pozemek (cca 2,5 ha) s sestnacti stavebnimi parcelami a zahajil vystavbu rozlehle tovarny. Postupne se brandyska fabrika stala nejvetsi specializovanou firmou na seci stroje a rozmetadla v celem Rakousku-Uhersku. Uspech firmy dokladala cetna vyznamenani na svetovych vystavach. Kolem roku 1900 si firma vybudovala sit obchodnich agentu, kteri se starali o odbyt v Uhrach, Nemecku, Svedsku, Dansku, Finsku, Holandsku, Anglii, Rusku, Francii, Belgii, Lucembursku, Italii, Tunisku, Alziru a Egypte. V teto dobe se osmapadesatilety Frantisek Melichar rozhodl vybudovat v arealu tovarny reprezentativni vilu. Vypracovani projektu sveril v roce 1900 znamemu ceskemu architektovi a doktoru techniky Vaclavu Rostlapilovi (1856-1930), zaku Josefa Schulze na ceske technice v Praze a Theofila Hansena na Akademii vytvarnych umeni ve Vidni. Honosnou historizujici novorenesancni vilu se secesnimi detaily vystavela v letech 1900-1902 prazska stavebni firma Antonina Makovce. Vyrazne clenitou stavbu s narozni hranolovou vezickou a stredovymi ozdobnymi stity podelnych pruceli obklopoval podle tehdejsich zvyklosti pozemek s parkovou upravou. Interier vily dodnes uchovava velke mnozstvi puvodnich prvku a detailu vysoke umeleckoremeslne urovne, z nichz je patrne, jak velkoryse a reprezentativne byval koncipovan. Frantisek Melichar, oceneny za mimoradne zasluhy rytirskym radem cisare Frantiska Josefa, nedlouho pred svou smrti a podle svych predstav nechal zhotovit rodinnou hrobku se sochou delnika a delnice od vyznamnych ceskych socharu Ladislava Salouna a Stanislava Suchardy.

Brandys nad Labem, an ancient city famous in modern history 19th century industrialist and the most important inventor of Agricultural Machinery Industry in Bohemia Frantisek Melichar(1842-1907).
In 1887, south of the historical city center and near the railroad, bought land (about 2.5 ha) with sixteen building parcels and began construction of large factories. Gradually, the factory became Brandys largest specialist firm on the seeders and spreaders in the whole Austro-Hungarian Empire. Success of the company demonstrated the numerous distinctions at world exhibitions. Around 1900, the company has built a network of sales agents, who take care of sales in Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Holland, England, Russia, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.
At this time František Melichar decided to build a factory site villa. Project preparation has entrusted in 1900 to Czech architect and friend Dr. Vaclav Rostlapil. Grand historic Renaissance villa built with Art Nouveau details in the years 1900-1902 Prague's construction company Antonin Makovec. Significantly rugged construction with a corner turret and a central longitudinal trim shields facade surrounded by contemporary practice grounds with landscaping. The interior of the villa still preserve high volumes of original features and detail by high levels of arts, showing how generous and representative been conceived.
