Geocache Description:

NOTE: In March of 2021, this cache was relocated and the container type changed. It has been kept alive because of its high favorite points and because it is part of the Great Chefs of Boston Series

You are looking for a squishy concrete block near where Barbara Lynch started her first restaurant. To get to the cache, you must climb a small, steep hill that can be very slippery when wet. This is a very highly trafficked area so please be aware of muggles. Also please replace the block carefully. While there is room for a few pathtags, please bring your own pen.

Barbara Lynch

South Boston native Barbara Lynch is regarded as one of Boston’s, and the country’s, leading chefs and restaurateurs. In 1998, Barbara opened her first restaurant, No. 9 Park, in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. The restaurant immediately received rave reviews from publications around the country and was named one of the “Top 25 New Restaurants in America” by Bon Appétit and “Best New Restaurant” by Food & Wine.

In 2003, Barbara opened two additional restaurants in the South End: B&G Oysters and The Butcher Shop. In 2007, she opened Stir, a demonstration kitchen around the corner from the pair. In 2008 Barbara launched two new establishments in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood: Drink, and Sportello. In 2010 Barbara opened Menton, a fine dining restaurant, also in Boston’s Fort Point. Menton has received several accolades, including being named one of Bon Appetit and Esquire magazines best new restaurants in 2010 and a 4 star review from The Boston Globe.
