Geocache Description:

You are looking for a camouflaged tube which is just bigger than a film canister outside the grounds of St Matthias' Church in Thorpe next Haddiscoe.

St Matthias' Church, built by the 11th Century, has a Saxon round tower constructed mainly of flints. The tower has a Norman bell stage containing two bells from the 15th and 17th Centuries.

The nave is also built of flints, probably in the Saxon period. The heavily-buttressed chancel was rebuilt in red brick in 1838 with gothick windows.

This is one of the Church Micro series. If any body would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list

Parking for a car is available just outside the gate to the churchyard. Be careful where you park so as not to obstruct the road - some big buses come through here!
