Located at the lookout in Meekatharra, there is ample parking to look for this geocache. Should be an easy find.....
Meekatharra is located about 765km North of Perth.
The Meeka Lookout is part of the Meekatharra Discovery Trail with a gravel walkway from the town side and vehicle access from the back of the lookout.
The lookout is built on an old tailings pile of gravel and debris from the old open cut mine which you can see from the top of the lookout, which also looks over the Great Northern Highway and the town of Meekatharra.
There is a short walkway around the top of the lookout, which has a couple of information signs about the town, old mines and the multi million dollar power station at the base of the lookout.
The cache is a sandwich size container with room for trackables and small trade items.
A logbook and pen is enclosed.
There is afew small items enclosed to start the cache - Kids toys, keyring etc.. just afew small items to get the cache started.
Please cover well with leaf matter and rocks after your find :)
Meeka is a great place for a fuel stop and a quick stretch of the legs on the way north or south.....supermarket is open Mon to Sat, and Coles Express (fuel station) is open 7 days until about 10pm.
