Nous profitons d'un bel après midi pour aller faire la maintenance de cette cache, après le log si sympathique et si téméraire (de nuit !!!) de Benich31. Une grande surprise nous attend : d'abord, l'accès par le chemin d'origine est rouvert, on peut se garer près du bâtiment blanc désaffecté, c'est beaucoup plus facile ! Et ce qui est bien plus facile aussi, c'est le terrain !
Plus de jungle, plus de ronces et orties : tout a été nettoyé et un magnifique chemin nous amène pratiquement au pied de la grotte de la Tourasse. Bon, c'est là que ça se corse...
Nous montons jusqu'au trésor, changeons la boîte cassée par une small, plaçons un nouveau logbook sous plastique et dans une micro, le tout bien recaché. La vue est belle, la blancheur des Pyrénées scintille devant nous, au loin. La tour du château de Montpezat nous regarde de haut. Tout va bien ! Bonne aventure !
ATTENTION : suivez bien le long du champ, ne piétinez pas les cultures ! Pas de crayon dans la cache.

Une grotte préhistorique près d'une ville. On se sent en sécurité, on y va en toute confiance .....
Erreur !!! L'aventure peut commencer à tout moment... surtout si vous essayez de pénétrer dans le bunker qui se trouve devant elle.....
Et pourtant, elle semble bien inoffensive, cette grotte de la Tourasse ! ... Une des seules grottes préhistoriques laissée ouverte. Pourtant, elle a offert un intérêt indéniable aux préhistoriens, puisque les fouilles y ont mis au jour 32 niveaux d'archéologie différents, parmi lesquels des structures d'habitat ont été identifiées.
D'autres fouilles ont révélé des ossements d'animaux sauvages - rennes, lions, élans, loups, cerfs -, des harpons et des ossements humains. Le site est caractéristique de l'époque de transition entre le Magdalénien et le Néolithique.
La grotte a livré tous ses trésors...... sauf un, bien dissimulé : saurez vous le trouver et revenir sans égratignure ? L'avenir nous le dira !!!
Rendez-vous aux coordonnées indiquées pour le départ de l'aventure. Vous y trouverez (avec des indices) la position du waypoint 1, où vous attend la position du trésor. Vous pourrez avoir besoin d'une pince pour extraire le papier de sa boîte.

ATTENTION : cette cache est destinée aux géocacheurs qui n'ont pas peur d'évoluer en terrain 4 : pas de chemin / il faut quelquefois "y mettre les mains". ELLE N'EST PAS CONSEILLEE AUX JEUNES ENFANTS.
Lors de l' ascension finale, VOUS NE SEREZ JAMAIS LOIN D'UN A-PIC VERTIGINEUX. L'accès au trésor est sans danger mais là encore, attention : le vide n'est pas loin. SOYEZ PRUDENTS !

Le coin des petits curieux :
Au cours de votre quête, vous apercevrez le château de Montpezat (XIe siècle), fief d'une des familles des plus anciennes du Comminges : les Montpezat.
Un membre de cette famille, Flandrine de Montpezat, est à l'origine de la création de l'abbaye de Bonnefont, grâce à un don de terres pour sa construction.
Non loin du site, direction Toulouse, vous pourrez aussi voir la tour de la Tourasse (XIe siècle), entre le canal et la route. Elle occupait peut être la double fonction de surveillance de la navigation sur la Garonne et de péage avant l'entrée de la ville;

The afternoon is too sunny to stay inside: we decide to go and maintain Rothenberg, after the log by Benich31: so nice and so reckless (at night !!!). A big surprise awaits us: first, the access by the original path is reopened, we can park near the white disused building , it is much easier! And what is also easier is the terrain! No more jungle, no more brambles or nettles: everything has been cleaned and a beautiful path takes us practically to the foot of the cave of la Tourasse. Well, that's where it gets tougher... We climb to the treasure, replace the broken box, put a new logbook under plastic and in a micro, hide the box. The view is beautiful, the whiteness of the Pyrenees sparkles before us in the distance. The tower of the castle of Montpezat looks down on us. Everything is fine ! Enjoy your adventure !
WARNING : follow the edge to the field, don't trample the crops! No pen in the cache.

A prehistoric cave close to a town. You feel safe, you go there confidently ..... What a mistake!!! The adventure can start at any moment… especially if you try to enter the bunker which is in front of it .....
And yet, this cave of Tourasse seems quite inoffensive! … It is one of the only prehistoric caves left open. However, it was undoubtedly of high interest for prehistorians, since the excavations revealed 32 different levels of archeology, among which structures of habitat were identified. Other excavations revealed bones of wild animals - reindeers, lions, elks, wolves, stags -, harpoons and human bones. The site is characteristic of the time of transition between the Magdalenian and the Neolithic era.
The cave has given all its treasures ...... except one, well hidden: will you be able to find it and return without a scratch? The future will tell us!!!
Go to the indicated position for the departure of the adventure. There, you will find (together with hints) the position of waypoint 1, where the coordinates of the treasure await you. You may need tweezers to extract the paper from its box.

WARNING: this cache is intended for geocachers who are not afraid to move in terrain 4: no path / it is sometimes necessary to "use your hands to climb up". IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN.
During the final ascent, YOU WILL NEVER BE FAR FROM A BREATHTAKING DROP. The access to the treasure is safe but there again, watch out: the void is not far away. BE CAREFUL!

During your quest, you will have a view of the castle of Montpezat (eleventh century), the stronghold of one of the oldest families of Comminges: the Montpezat.
One member of this family, Flandrine Montpezat, is behind the creation of Bonnefont Abbey, thanks to a donation of land for its construction.
Not far from the site, on the way to Toulouse, you can see the Tower of Tourasse (eleventh century), between the canal and road. It may have held the dual role of navigation monitoring on the Garonne and of the toll before entering the city.
