V polích mezi Josefovem a Mikulcicama vedla kdysi prímá cesta.
Chodilo se tudy s konma a s kravama a nejen zvírata bylo potreba
napojit. K tomu sloužila sít studánek. Tehdy František
Hrebacka známý jako Fanoš Mikulecký složil písnicku V
širém poli studánecka, ale k jejímu autorství se prihlásil
až když zlidovela. Písnicku si mužete poslechnout
napríklad zde. U studánek vetšinou stávaly i
krížky. Bohužel nyní zustal jediný. Tento byl na jare
roku 2010 zrestaurován a studánka znovu vystavena místním
podnikatelem.

V dobách, kdy ji místní hojne využívali, byla v celé síti
studánek pitná voda. Po znárodnení polícek a intenzivním
polnohospodarení zemedelských družstev je však voda
vhodná maximálne na zalévání.
Celá oblast je vzhledem k lignitovým ložiskum poddolovaná a
celé okolí je výrazne zvrásnené. Pri pohledu do polí je zrejmé, jak
poddolování zdejší rovinu poznamenalo. Dnešní
asfaltová cesta vedoucí z Mikulcic do Josefova je tímto docela
ponicená a nejaký cas byla kvuli vysokým zlomum v asfaltu úplne
uzavrená.

Pred renovací rostly okolo studánky ctyri akáty, které nyní
pripomínají už jen parezy. Akáty však byly z
vetší cásti uschlé a prípadné poutníky by jen
ohrožovaly. Proto byly pokáceny a místo nich byly vysázeny 3
mladé doubky. Z techto stromku byl ale jeden už príliš
vzrostlý a neprežil presazení, a jeden byl príliš malý
a ztratil se v tráve, která byla behem léta posekána. Jeden doubek
ale prežil a ten snad studánku pohlídá. Treba si v jeho stínu
odpocinete napríklad na cyklovýlete.

A direct road trough the fields used
to connect Mikulcice and Josefov. People needed to water crops cows
and horses, And themselves of course. A net of waterholes was the
best solution. At the time, local artist František Hrebacka
alias Fanoš Mikulecký composed a beautiful song "V
širém poli studánecka". He didn't want to claim his
autorship of the songs utill it became a folk tune. You can listen
to this song
for example here. In this christian shire there was a cross
near each waterhole, bringing God's protection to the water. Only
one of them is still standing and was renewed and the well rebuilt
during the Spring 2010 by a local businessman.

Back when the farmers used the
waterholes, there was fresh water in them. After the fields were
expropriated and the cooperative farms took over, quallity of the
water dropped rapidly and it is now good only for waterring
crops.
Due to lignite deposits, the whole
area is undermined, which you can notice while looking arround. The
fields are furrowed and the tarmack track connecting Mikulcice and
Josefov today, was totally destroyed and used to be closed for a
long time during the 90's.
Before the reconstruction, four
acacia trees grew wild arround the waterhole, but they were old and
mostly dried out. Keeping them would be dangerous for people
visiting the place. That is why they were torn down, reminded only
by four tree stumps. In their place 3 oak trees were planted.
Sadly, one of them was too large to survive the transplantation and
one was too small and got lost in the high grass that was cut
during summer. Only one oak tree survived and keeps growing. We
hope it will guard the waterhole and provide a shade for you to
rest in.

Ze silnice 55 se u obce Mikulcice nedá na místní komunikaci
sjet. Je treba odbocit na križovatce u Lužic, nebo
Moravské Nové Vsi.
Prosím nejezdete autem až ke studánce, ale nechte auto na
oznaceném bode (konec panelové cesty). Ke studánce sice obcas vede
polní cesta, ale vede po poli a místní zemedelci nemají rádi auta
až vzadu a možná by Vás museli také tahat ven
traktorem.
Krabicku vracejte na puvodní místo a znova ji správne zamaskujte,
at tam chvíli vydrží.

ješte zhoršit a nejspíš budete potrebovat
holinky
There is no slip road from the 55
road. You have to use crossing at Lužice or Moravská Nová
Ves.
Please don't drive your car all the way to the waterhole. Park it
on the marked spot (end of the panel road) even if you think there
is some kind of a road it is in fact a field and you might need a
tractor to get out of there.
Return the cache to it's original hideout and camouflage it
properly so it lasts a while.
After strong rain or with the snow
the terrain might be worse and you will have to wear rubber
boots.
