A series of 11 caches, some of which contain clues which should lead you to a bonus cache.
Old Sweeties
A series of caches to evoke nostalgic memories of a long lost – misspent - youth for the more mature cacher and hopefully to inform and encourage the younger ones to discover the delights of Gran & Granddads’ childhood.
These confections used to be available in almost every corner shop or newsagents or tuck shop. Sadly today, whilst most are still manufactured; many of them are only available in specialist shops in Tourist areas or via the internet.
# 5 Liquorice Root:
Liquorice Wood - a sweet, if you can call it that, from days gone by. This is real liquorice root which you chew - and chew and chew! It`s one of the most nostalgically-charged sweets and was extremely popular
The Walk
Adequate on road Parking is available close to Cache #1
Whilst some of the caches are accessible by car you are advised and encouraged to walk the route as the road surfaces are unmade and uneven and parking is difficult and will draw attention. The walk is approx. 4 miles long and mostly flat, some of the paths can be muddy in places after prolonged rain so wear suitable footwear. We estimate that most could do this series in approx. 2+hours
We have tried where possible to make this a family walk however. please note a very short section of the walk is not currently easy for those with Buggies although there are plans to repair the surface in the near future.
Please see individual caches for specific details.
Remember to collect the clues for the final cache which are contained in some of the caches.
**please note that not all the caches have a pen, bring your own**
